Up for sale, we have an outstanding example of a 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car with a mere 25,629 actual miles. This is 1 of only 6,502 Pace Car editions produced to commemorate the running of the Indianapolis 500. This particular pace car is powered by the optional L-82 V8 producing 220HP and 260Lb-Ft of torque linked to an automatic transmission and 355 rear posi axel. This Corvette is also equipped with the rare FE7 Gymkhana suspension which added stiffer front sway bars and stiffer springs for better handling. The exterior is finished in special edition black over silver paint along with Pace Car graphics which are all in excellent condition. The Pace Car is equipped with 15" special edition red striped polished alloy wheels and removable glass roof panels for those sunny days. The interior amenities include power steering, AM/FM stereo, cruise control, rear window defogger, power windows, tilt and telescopic steering column, and power antenna. The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in silver along with a color matched dash, center console, door panel, and carpeting, all of which are in excellent condition. The A/C compressor has been replaced and the headlights converted to electric from vacuum.
